09.36 Good morning! We're reporting LIVE from The Glass Space - the alternative venue at Sligo15 this year. It's a smaller gathering but we're excited about what God will do here as we worship together.
10.05 Joining folks in The Arena by video link to hear Greg Venables share the Morning Bible teaching - continuing his theme on growing into maturity.
10.09 Lord, may this moment together lead us to a place of service which builds your church, extends you kingdom and glorifies your name.
Reading from Ephesians 6:10-13. Today we are going to look together at the whole question of evil and spiritual warfare and I don’t need to tell anybody here that they are very real. It is no small thing to be a Christian.
Turn to Revelation chapter 12. This is history - these are not just stories, they are real things that happened. Satan has been defeated. We are living in victory.
Through the Gospels we see manifestations of evil. Anywhere God appears, the enemy can’t keep his mouth shut. Light goes into the darkness, darkness does not go into the light!
10.25 1 John 5:19 We know that we are from God… Ephesians 2.2 You were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air.
Part of the reason God has not taken out of this world is for the sake of those who don’t yet know Him… those who are still dead! 2 Corinthians 4 - Satan has blinded the eyes of the world. The problem is spiritual! That is why human methods don’t work because people are blind.
10.35 You will find that when you go out into the real world and start being light and salt… all those things that weigh you down and burden you, all those things that make you feel sorry for yourself… just start to disappear. It doesn't mean you won't have problems, but you will see them differently.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4: You cannot begin to do this unless you have been empowered by the Holy Spirit. The empowerment comes from God and you have all the authority you need. It is Christ’s authority in you. Although we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. It is God’s power and He does it. He gives us divine power to demolish strongholds but you have to be there!

14.00 Wednesday is the "free" day and with the sun shining, many families headed for the lovely beach at Rosses Point - just a few minutes from Sligo IT. Organised games, lots of sandcastle making and an ice cream or two, made for a fun afternoon at a beautiful spot!
19.30 While the adults are worshipping in The Arena and The Glass Space, the kids and young people are enjoying their own programmes. This evening we dropped in to discover there were some very special visitors to the Kids Venue - Superheroes!!
The Lord fights our Battles
20.00 We're looking forward to hearing from Priscilla Reid this evening. Priscilla and her husband Paul have recently joined the lead team of ARC Ireland after many years of leading CFC in Belfast.
This morning Greg spoke about evil and spiritual warfare. That was the subject I felt the Holy Spirit had laid on my heart to speak about this evening, so I felt it was underlined. The important thing to remember is that the battle belongs to the Lord.
Jesus has already won the battle on our behalf and it is from that premise, we look at the subject tonight. He has called us to a battlefield. But when we talk in these kind of terms, we start to get into a military mode. The Bible does talk about armour and weapons but the whole point of it is that they are not the weapons of this world. It is going to look entirely different.
Reading from Psalm 23: Right in the middle of what you are facing, God is laying a table of provision for you and He is inviting you to come. A battlefield isn’t a very still place. It is full of noise, mayhem and confusion. But we can sit at the Lord’s table and be still.
20.27 A battlefield is a very frightening place to be. We don’t battle against flesh and blood but it is no less real. But the Lord of angel armies is on our side. If we can get stirred up at a human level when we watch battle scenes in fields, then how much more should we be inspired and encouraged to know that the Lord is fighting for us!
When we come to a table, the Lord provides us with support and relationship. I love sitting around a table with good friends, good food and conversation. We were never made to battle through on our own.
When we are still before the Lord, He shows us the unexpected solutions and prophetic strategies. There is no five-step plan. We need to be still before the Lord and say, “In this situation, what would you have me do.”
20.30 The way we defeat the enemy is to come in the opposite spirit. We are talking about love and grace. We have the most amazing message that this world can ever hear. We have a message that can change and heal broken life. If you can come in an opposite spirit.
If we will harness our energies. If we will love each other and support each other and honour one another, then we will confound the enemy. Let the Holy Spirit use us to be the peacemakers. God promises us that He will give us more and more prophetic strategies to see the enemy defeated.
