About VOX

At the intersection of faith, life and reality in 21st Century Ireland, VOX gives voice to Christians who want to engage with one another and with the world around them.

It was Vox Hibernia - the voice of the Irish - that brought the 5th century slave-turned-priest Patrick back to the land of his captivity and set in motion a transformation that sent shock waves across Europe.

Our passion at VOX is to give voice to the Irish - to inspire, question, equip, inform, wrestle, challenge and encourage a new wave of Irish world-changers.

VOX magazine is part of Solas publishing, an independent not-for-profit company started as a partnership between Evangelical Alliance IrelandOM Ireland and Oasis of Love Ministries

Who's Behind it?

Ruth Garvey-Williams, Editor of VOX magazine
Ruth Garvey-Williams, Editor

Her passion? Communicating Truth.

When Ruth left her successful job as a journalist and news editor on a London newspaper in 1990 she thought her media career was at an end. She was wrong. Serving in missions with OM International for over 20 years, Ruth soon discovered her skills as a writer and editor were in demand.

In January 2005 Ruth and her family moved to Donegal to work with OM Ireland. She quickly developed a deep love for Ireland and for the Irish people. She was delighted to join the VOX team as Editor in 2008. Ruth and her husband Andrew have two daughters. They continue to live in "the most beautiful part of Ireland" where they are also involved in youth work and church ministry.

Jonny Lindsay, Operations Manager

Having grown up between Ireland and Switzerland, Jonny followed his dream and sailed the high seas with the MV Doulos for five years and then worked with OM in Ireland for another five. Jonny loves good design and thought-provoking photography. He's married to Singaporean Sheila and has three little boys to keep him busy.

Tom Slattery, Board of Directors

Tom is the Director of Operations of Evangelical Alliance Ireland and has 35 years business experience, most recently with Xerox Europe Limited as the General Manager of their European Call Centre division. Tom is married to Eileen.
