How does the church respond to the tragedy of suicide? How can we be effective in suicide prevention?
Ireland's Christian magazine, VOX is hosting a series of one-day conferences around Ireland to inform and equip churches and Christians (of all denominations and backgrounds) as they seek to respond to suicide and engage in suicide prevention.
Keynote speakers (Dublin)

The conference will run from 10am to 4pm (registration from 9.30) and will feature workshops and inspiring, practical examples as well as opportunities for discussion and questions. Other speakers include: Stephen Bradley (Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing), Linda Rowett, (Christian Counsellor) and Ruth Garvey-Williams, (VOX magazine editor and chair of an award-winning community suicide prevention group).
Workshops will be offered on a range of subjects (depending on venue and demand) including:
- Supporting those bereaved by suicide
- Understanding Self Harm
- Equipped to Care - listening skills
- Working together with your community.
- Supporting a family member with chronic mental illness.
Tickets cost €20 per person and €10 for students / concessions (including lunch, tea & coffee and the conference resource pack).
